A two-car accident on North and Genesee Streets in front of the Galbato building tied up traffic for a short time early Thursday afternoon.
A black Chevrolet sedan appeared to have rear-ended a silver Subaru Forester close to the intersection of the streets. Auburn Fire Department officials said they believed the driver of the silver Subaru had a learner’s permit, and accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake, sending the car over a bench and fire hydrant and nearly missing the Galbato building. There were no serious injuries.
